Letters between Mo and Lo Part 4....
Hie Lo,
I was literally laughing out loud when I read ( follow the link if you missed part 3) about how people tend to forget what you are selling and then I also
thought what a minute this is Lo, she probably strings the poor men along, I’ve
got your number girl, I know how like to use innuendo when it suits you, don’t
deny it.
Eish Pee is hectic isn’t she? It’s always
one scandal after another. Remember when we were in high school and she was
dating the tall maths teacher. Drama follows her like…. (I can’t find a simile
but yes drama follows her)
I had lunch with Tony’s family the other
day, I felt so uncomfortable not because anyone did anything but because
everyone was trying too hard to make me feel comfortable. Arrgggh. Silly I know
but it’s true. Next time they invite me over, I am not going alone.
So I
have decided to take your advice, first I will take it to the hills, then I
will have a serious chat with him. We will see how that goes. But the end of
June I have to know what’s what. Although I have a strong feeling that I am
getting roorwad in October and wedding in April….
I had a fight with Auntie Rue, you know my
cousin Mu, he is in love and very happy BUT Auntie doesn’t approve of his
girlfriend. She is insisting that they break up. I have been trying to explain
to her that the most she can do is share her reservations with him, but she cannot
make the decision for him because at the end of the day he has to live with his
chosen spouse. It’s not her decision to make. And what makes the situation
worse is that there are no solid bases to her disapproval. She just doesn’t
think she is “straight straight” that’s how she puts it and she thinks she likes things and is only after
Mu’s money. I looked at her like Auntie are you serious????? Sure she dresses
really well, mani, pedi topped off with a Brazilian weave but that doesn’t make
her a gold digger. If she turns out to be gold digger, Auntie can always say
“Mu, I told you so” but she can’t stop him from being with the woman he loves.
When I spoke to her, I was trying to explain that the more she fights it, the
stronger their love will get. Mu has been shopping for an engagement ring, I
didn’t tell her that part though.
Speaking of Auntie, I was thinking the
other day about how parents probably start imagining our lives from the time we
are in the womb. Thinking about what we will become and how we will behave and
how will be better versions of them. But what do we do instead; we turn out to
be total opposites of what they imagined. I can only imagine the
disappointments they experience – when the doctor you envisioned decides to be
a rock star or even when we leave the churches they raised us in or even.
Ohh well how are things with Fa?? You have
been very quiet about him….???
Bye lovie,
Take care
Lots of love Mo
p.s I am having a cup of Milo and a slice
of carrot cake for supper. The little joys of living away from Mumsy, she would
never have this!!!!!! J
