Letters between Lo and Mo Part 3
Mo,
Thanks for the letter. (follow the link if you missed the second letter). Dubai was fabulous, it’s
just a pity I only got to see it at night because mornings and afternoons were
consumed by the conference. Being a sales lady is tough my friend, sometimes I
think men people are convinced I am selling myself and not the products!!! You
will make a 30 minute presentation only for someone to ask you out for drinks
but show no interest in the products.
Eish your Tony issues are a bit out of my
depth, you know my views on marriage but that won’t stop me from giving you my
2 cents. The thing that worries me the most is the intensity of your issue,
little things like walking around the house in his socks or leaving the toilet
seat up, such issues you can ignore and deal with. But issues to do with your
future you cannot afford to ignore. My advice is for you to take this one to
the hills pray about it and ask God for a strong conviction before you make a
final decision. Then I would also advise you to sit down and talk to your man,
maybe he does have plans but doesn’t understand how important it is for you to
hear them. Break it down to him and communicate.
Fantasia said sometimes you’ve got to
lose to win again. So if it a dead end, do what Johnnie did and just keep
walking sister.
As for travelling out of Africa I never got
the memo that says that married women have to submit their passports in exchange
for a marriage certificate. Can you still not travel with the Mrs title??? Ok, that’s
some feminist banter right there, I know it won’t be as easy for you to just
get up and travel but we will make a plan. I’ll be on the prowl for affordable
holiday packages that you can take before October.
Mo, no one will ever see all there is out
there. There will always be someone smarter, more focused, taller, more
charming, more intelligent but there will never be another person with all the characteristics
put together in the same proportions as the next person. That’s what makes us
all different. Does that make sense? Besides they say the grass is never green
at the other side, its only greener where you water it.
That’s my 2 cent sandwich some positives
some negative.
I am sorry this is going to be a short
letter, work calls.
Lots of love,
Lo
Before I go, you know how Pee has been
telling the world about her new beau, well she was doing my hair the other day
and we got talking about the men in our lives. So she decided to show me
picture of the two of them. (insert laughing emoticon) he is an OLD man. I know
love knows no number blah blah blah but the man is old. So I asked her if he
ever comes to Zimbabwe to see her and she says no, they have been dating for a
whole year and he has never come to see her motherland, she always has to
travel to South Africa because he is always busy. Ahhh where is the commitment
and sacrifice there? Maybe I am the one with a problem but one year and he has
never come to visit, I smell a dead rat.
But she is happy so who am I?
p.s.s. I haven’t decided if I want to vote
this time around. I am not sure anymore if my vote is truly my voice, I am not
sure if my X means anything. I probably will but with a very heavy heart…
ciao
