The Unfriending of the Mr
I recently unfriended the Mr on Facebook.
Why?
Because it was the right thing to do,
considering we have had some Facebook squabbles in the past and I am sure there
were more to come. Exs who shouldn’t be friends, inappropriate posts on walls,
inappropriate comments on photos etc.
Just to give you a glimpse. A long while
ago I posted something which I thought to be “sweet”(yes occasionally I do
sweet) on his wall and he didn’t respond. I checked my notifications just to
see if he had but nothing zilch. So I figured the only logical explanation was
that he hadn’t been on Facebook the whole day… Wasn’t I just wrong, I visited
his wall and there he was responding to a wall post made after mine by one of
his female friends, my least favourite of the lot if I might add. I won’t bore
you with the details of what transpired after this realisation but yes it is
incidences like this that have ultimately lead to the great unfriending of the Mr.
My thinking was why should this go on. Each
one of us owns their respective profile and it’s wrong to have the other
dictate what is should or shouldn’t be done on that profile. Besides even if
one has access to the wall Lord knows what is taking place in the inbox or on
chat.
Because some people truly give themselves
so much work….
Checking phone messages, checking whatsapp messages,
checking call logs, going through Facebook profile, looking at Facebook friends
and their friends….I am getting tired just by typing about it….its all work, so
much work, work that usually leads to no good.
I know a number of sisters are giving me
disapproving looks and thinking I made a bad decision because it is my job to
keep tabs on the Mr. But I just don’t have the energy right now. Sorry ladies.
There is a Shona saying that goes “if you
look for a baboon in a mountain you will find it”. So why look in the first
place?
If you want to unfriend someone find the instructions here
Just in case you were wondering the unfriending was done in total peace and love.
So he is no longer my friend on Facebook,
if I change my mind I will just send him a request…

i think that is a good idea!!
