AFRICA - 10 million dollar body, 10 cent brain???
Could Africa be said to have a million
dollar body and a ten cent brain??
The analogy was presented by Chris Bishop,
Managing Editor of Forbes Africa, as he wished Africa the best in 2013.
Is it possible that we have a million
dollar body and a ten cent brain? Has the world written us off as a source of
natural resources but with no world changing intellectual wealth to offer?

and Sudan, the diamond infested Sierra
Leone, the rich cocoa fields of West Africa, the thick Katanga copper belt, the
beauty of the Nile River, I could go on and on…

Then you flip the coin and there you will
find abject poverty in Somalia, bombing in Kenya, humanitarian violations in
Zimbabwe, grave corruption in Nigeria, an exaggeratedly dichotomous society in
South Africa, a bleeding political system dependent on cohesion by violence and
fear, a continent rich in culture which is slowly yet surely losing its
identity to those of its previous colonial masters.
Could Africa have a million dollar body and
a ten cent brain??
