A Letter to you my LGBTQ+ Friend
My dear LGBTQ+ friend,
I see you my friend.
I see how you hide who you are.
I see how you get a little tense and very quiet when the
LGBTQ+ conversation starts and our brothers and sisters in our ‘Fake Krishen
nation’ unknowingly express their very deep more often than not negative
sentiments about who you are.
I see how you steal glances of people from the gender that
you are attracted to.
I see how you brush off conversations about when you are
going to find someone and settle down.
I see how your spirit lights up when you are nations where
you can let out a bit more of yourself.
I see you my friend
I see you and it breaks my heart that you cannot live your
truth.
It breaks my heart that you have to listen to so much hate
ever so often.
It breaks my heart that you carry such a huge secret.
I wish for you the world that Martin Luther King dreamt of,
where we are judged only by the content of our character and nothing else.
Because yours is a character of gold and appreciate that I have had a friend
like you in this lifetime.
I see you my friend…
