Why DJ Munya Why????
I have been resisting the urge to throw in
my 2 cent about the DJ Munya debacle but I can’t hold in anymore.
For those of you not in the know, let me
enlighten you, DJ Munya a famous Zimbabwean radio personality is accused of
having hired hit men who kidnapped and murdered his wife’s alleged lover. This
murder transpired after the alleged lover, the late Mr Magorimbo failed to pay
DJ Munya $5 000 which has been demanded as compensation for the alleged
affair.
If the allegations are true then my take is
- Wife cheats on husband, DJ Munya’s wife cheated on him. They made vows to one
another as husband and wife. Mr Magorimbo was not there, he did not promise DJ
Munya “to have and to hold forsaking all others”. In my opinion DJ Munya should
have dealt with his marital issues with his WIFE. Please note, I am not saying
he should have ordered the hit on his wife, absolutely not, what I am saying is
he should have spoken to his wife about the infidelity issue and dealt with it
within their marriage. Imagine trying to solve an alcoholics drinking problem
by taking away every bottle of beer you find them holding. That won’t stop them
from buying another bottle or better yet making sure that you don’t find them
next time they decide to drink a beer. Farfetched example, I know but I am sure
you get the point I am trying to drive home.
Someone may argue that Magorimbo deserves
what he got because he was dating another man’s wife, but my take is she knows
that she is married, she should have said NO. If she is the one who wooed
Magorimbo then that’s even worse because she simply should not have gone there.
Whichever of the parties was responsible for the conception of this affair, DJ
Munya’s wife had the power and responsibility of ending it before it started.
My thoughts would have been the same if
roles had been reversed and DJ Munya was the cheating husband. I would still be
of the opinion that the matter should have been resolved within the marriage.
You don’t know the third party, you are not aware of their values and morals or
lack thereof. Furthermore they owe you nothing. But you know your partner and
you are aware of the commitment you have made to one another.
I wish I could ask DJ Munya what good the
$5 000 was going to make. If I were his wife I would be downright
offended, was it a rent- a – wife fee? Was he assuming the role of my pimp? Why
should he request payment for my infidelity? I would be thinking “this whole
situation would be so much easier to handle if he killed a man because he loved
me that much, I would probably write a love story about it, but now it just
looks like he killed a man because he didn’t receive his compensation fee for
my affair”.
Unfortunately the case is shrouded with all
sorts of inconsistencies and lack of permissible evidence. Some evidence and occurrences
point towards Magorimbo committing suicide while others leave Mrs Magorimbo’s
looking guilty of her husband’s murder.
Sadly this is not CSI, 3 weeks after the
crime and we are no closer to knowing the perpetrator than we were the first
day it hit the newsstands. The last bit of information I have heard is that he
was released from remand prison on $300 bail.
According
to the laws a man is guilty until proven innocent but society has always
demonstrated that one is guilty until proven innocent.

I am no fan of Munya's but I have to say He is innocent. Mrs Magorimbo's statements just do not add up.How does finding bluish fluid in the loo link to the kidnap and yet Magorimbo took a day off, changed phone numbers and left home on his own and wasnt abducted ..went to his workplace and later called a cab so how does Munya come into the story, this Magorimbo wife knows a lot and is hiding something. Its her word against Munya's why would he tell her that he had Magorimbo and risk being arrested and then why would his freinds(they were not hired) continue to keep magorimbo in their custody for 3 more days knowing full well that munya has been arrested on Thursday? And then Millicent is the first to see her naked hubby on sunday again its her statement and no one else's. They were not lying when they said hell with its demons and fire and brimstone hath no fury like a woman scorned. after a lavish wedding she finds out hubby is cheating and his mistress is pregnant and she isnt and to add insult upon injury hubby is taking money out of their home to pay damage to Munya...thats a good enough motive right there. My gut tells me Munya didnt do it. My other theory is Magorimbo was still owing lots of money after throwing a lavish wedding, spending on his mistress and then also owing Munya so Magorimbo takes a day off changes phone numbers and fakes his kidnapping so that he can get money from his job - doesnt make sense that munya would ask for ransom from someoen's job and even have cell numbers of magorimbo's workmates that far fetched!!!!!I think Magorimbo's plan was to fake his kidnapping get some money out of his job and then attempt suicide but make sure that he get to the hospital on time so that he doesnt die....and his wife may have known and even helped him take the poison to make his story more credible or maybe she didnt know but one things is for sure Munya and his freinds are not guilty
