Attraction attraction attraction
Attraction, what is it that constitutes an attractive woman. What features of a woman act as magnets drawing the opposite sex? What are men talking about when they talk about an attractive woman”?
The beauty of questions is that if you ask the right people you may get the right answers. I set out to ask seven of my male friends what three words they would use to describe an attractive woman and below are the interesting descriptions I collected:
My down to earth brother described his attractive woman as one with “Great morals, loyalty and respect. The second batch included confidence, being down to earth and looks.” Testimony that men don’t listen I asked for three words and got two batches instead. He ex-girlfriend was not any of this things, she was the opposite…strange. Maybe not, maybe that explains why she is an ex.
My witty funny brotheris attracted to women who are smart, fun and hourglass shaped. He remains single, probably because “hour glass” shaped women are hard to find. I want to meet the individual who coined this simile, it makes no sense.

| A woman shaped like this??? |
My young fun loving brother wants a woman who is intelligent, sexy and beautiful in that order. I love that beauty did not take precedence on this list. Not that I have a problem with the aspect of men desiring women who are gentle on the eyes but wouldn’t intelligence count for more in the long run? What would I know; I am just a woman who is a sucker for great conversation and brilliant minds.
My well groomed professional brother is drawn to fabulosity, elegance and would like to have his breath taken. I really should have asked for more detail on this one, because I would love to know what one has to do to become fabulous… *insert winking smiley*
My simple, caring but very picky brother is attracted to an Intelligent, pretty and sultry woman. This is quite a straight forward list of requirements, if he just a little less picky with his women, we’d be planning a wedding by now.
My “peculiar” brother spoke about confidence, a sense of humour and being very feminine. When I asked for more detail on the femininity, he spoke about hips, thighs and full lips. Making me wonder whether the absence of full lips compromised ones femininity?
(I should start a matching making organisation and auction off all these fine brothers…)
Where am I going with this? Well, the majority of these men seemed to be attracted to above average IQ women. So, shame on those terrible movies that made us believe that no man is interested in a woman’s brain. You know the movies I am talking about, the ones where the brainiest girl in the class was always the last to be asked to the prom and usually by the least desirable male.
Madagascar Escape to Africa; Gloria wants Moto Moto (names so nice gotta say it twice) to tell her what he likes about her. All he can come up with is “you are so big …. so chunky….” Nothing else. Even cartoons are attracted to the physical.
However, my observation is that it is a chain of events. Individual sees book cover, if the cover is physically attractive, turn’s book over and read summary, if the summary is good, purchase book.
Yes ladies, I am cognisant of the phrase don’t judge a book by its cover, but truth be told in this dating jungle, it really is a jungle, there truly is hunting of animals going on, I digress… in this dating jungle we are constantly being judged by our covers. Our looks and body figures have a large bearing on whether we are attractive or not.
The cliché has been proven to be accurate men are attracted to the physical; sexy, breath taking, sultry, feminine, beautiful, hour glass shaped… apparently a woman has to be good looking before a man can even attempt to discover whether her intelligence, fabulosity, sense of humour, respect confidence or morality fit the bill.
How unfair is that? very unfair I know but hey there are no rules in this jungle.
The grand finale, my young ambitious and interesting brother he said I, your truly October Madness was the ultimate definition of an attractive woman. He said that just to make me smile and it worked. Vanity… hanging head in shame.

ReplyDeletetell bachelor number 7 I said, good answer :)
Men are visual creatures. Its sad but true. You want to know his mind, his future plans etc he's thinking what will my boys say when I walk into the bhawa with this one lol I've been told by a good male friend of mine that once I start having kids, I must take care not to look like an elephant. The guy who said this has a pot belly and I am yet to see him make any effort to get rid of it... So ya its very unfair!
Visual creatures indeed!!!
Deleteever noticed how males can get away with murder and we cant!!!?? they can get away with cheating, pot bellies and heavy drinking, but the same doesnt hold true for us.
