What do you want World??

          What do you want?

You give me so many questions

            But never any answers…

You preach the gospel of love

            But give me so many reasons to hate…

You want me to sit down and pay attention

            And yet you keep pushing me to stand up and be counted…

You draw my attention to the inequality around me

            But offer no solutions…

I want to scream and shout at the perpetrators of injustice

shhh...

And yet you place your enormous finger of authority on my lips and instruct me to keep quiet…

 

I see brothers and sisters walking around with heavy loads on their head

World, if you won’t give them the strength to take the load off, why won’t you take it down for them.

WHAT DO YOU WANT WORLD????

Many a man is dinning at a table filled with more than he can take

            And yet just around the corner many families are dinning solely on the perils of poverty and hunger…
